To those of you that thought Gino Clicque would take a sabbatical after his record breaking auction, think again. He started the season with just a team of yearlings and his youngsters of 2017, and they all had a splendid season, which demonstrates the value of the Golden Prince & Co bloodlines.

Gino Clicque 2.0

History was written here at PIPA in March 2017 with the old birds’ auction of Gino Clicque. The record breaking sale of Golden Prince for 360,000 EURO remained a popular topic of conversation for months, both at home and broad. Pigeon magazines, as well as radio and television extensively covered this unique pigeon auction, which saw a total revenue of 2,145,375 EURO or 5,297 EURO per pigeon. With just a team of yearlings and his youngsters of 2017 many fanciers assumed it would take a few years for Gino to regain his place as a top level player. Gino proved them wrong: 2017 was a memorable year not just because of his highly successful auction, but also because he won no less than five top 10 prizes in the national ace pigeon championships KBDB 2017:

1st National Ace Pigeon KBDB Long Distance Yearlings
4th National Ace Pigeon KBDB Allround
5th National Ace Pigeon KBDB Fond Jaarse
9th National Ace Pigeon KBDB Allround
10th National Ace Pigeon KBDB Long Distance Yearlings

We reckon Gino had not expected this season to be such a great success either. His opponents had a very tough time competing against him. Think for instance of the national races from Limoges and Jarnac, where he had no less than 20 pigeons in the national top 100. We rarely get to see a loft that is so overwhelmingly strong but it shows that Gino Clicque’s pigeon family is exceptionally strong, and that the Prince dynasty is an invaluable pigeon breed. No less than 35 national prizes per 100 were won, along with 21 national top 50 prizes and 37 provincial top 10 prizes. The team also claimed 10 top 20 prizes across three national races (Limoges, Tulle and Jarnac):

6th National Limoges of 10554 yearlings
6th National Jarnac of 5117 yearlings
7th National Jarnac of 5117 yearlings
8th National Jarnac of 5117 yearlings
11th National Tulle of 9578 yearlings
12th National Limoges of 10554 yearlings
12th National Tulle of 9578 yearlings
14th National Tulle of 9578 yearlings
17th National Limoges of 10554 yearlings
18th National Jarnac of 5117 yearlings
