The Sangers-Ung pigeon loft has seen a considerable increase in performance just two years after introducing their Van Den Bulck pigeons. Sangers x Van Den Bulck proved a winning combination: these invaluable bloodlines have really paid off, with the team claiming a 3rd and 15th Nat. Ace Pigeon Middle Distance in the “De Allerbeste” competition, along with ten first prizes in 2017.

The highly successful 2017 season is the result of a friendship between Marcel Sangers and his good friend from The Philippines Paul Ung, who is unfortunately very sick at the moment. But this is first of all the result of the exceptional level of quality in Marcel’s breeding loft. His old Superkweker dynasty has an excellent reputation, having bred national and international champions across more than two centuries. But Marcel knows that as a top level fancier he needs to strive for constant progress. He started looking for another inbred pigeon to be crossed with his own family of highly inbred champions. He wanted to find a modern-day pigeon that he felt completely confident about.

When visiting Yannick de Ridder of Flanders Collection for the first time, he was able to take a closer look at the best Dirk Van Den Bulck pigeons on the market. He found they were the sprint pigeons that could really enable him to up his game. “They are remarkably strong pigeons with beautiful eyes, a strong body and soft plumage. They feel like the perfect pigeons”, Marcel explains. He and Flanders Collection exchanged pigeons and youngsters from the most iconic pigeons, and they ended up with quite an impressive collection of birds:

4 youngsters of Kittel, 1st Nat. Ace Pigeon KBDB Sprint 2013 with the lowest coefficient ever
3 youngsters of Goede Rode x Olympic Rosita, the parents of Kittel
2 youngsters of Greipel, 6th Nat. Ace Pigeon Sprint KBDB & brother Kittel
1 youngster of New Kittel, substitute pigeon Olympiad & brother Kittel

2 youngsters of Olympiade Koppel, the parents of Olympiad Pigeon Olympic Rosita, the dam of Kittel
