Dear Participants
After the end of 2016 edition of the Golden Race Algarve, we want to thank all Participants, Agents, Sponsors, Employees, Institutions and Friends around the world that helped us, and another year we had a record number of participants, and we have reached to final race about 70% of entry pigeons (some reserve pigeons did not participate in final because they have not been activated), this is undoubtedly the result of hard work and a lot of affection for the pigeons, I have never seen happen in any derby in the world, and only those who are not fanciers can say the opposite , because if in our lofts when we introduced a pigeon from another loft, which may even be a neighbor, we some times have problems. What is the fancier who begins a sport season with 50 young birds of the year, race 10 training and 4 races up to 290 km and comes to an end with 35 (70%) ?? almost no one, we got pigeons from 35 countries and about 1200 fanciers.
We think we did a good job with great dedication and love for pigeons, and we want to continue in the next years to do even better.
As no one can reach perfection, although we try, the season 2016 was marked by the work start with the new Benzing clock system, we had to have some time of adaption, which has led to some setbacks at informatic level , setbacks that we are working on that, and in 2017 everything will be perfect.
We will this week start making payments, and in the next 10 days we want to have all paid, so we are requesting everyone that have money to get, to send to our email, or inform the agent in your country and bank account IBAN and BIC to where want us to do the transfer.
All those who do not send the bank information for the transfer, we will understand who claim that the money remains in the account for registration in 2017.
Auctioning arrived pigeons will begin Friday October 7, and the pigeons will be auctioned in 20 auctions of 115 pigeons, in rank order, except for the first 20 that will be auctioned in Pipa on 10 October.
You can see on our website at auctions in 2016 the distribution of auctions and which sites where they will perform.
As stated in Regulation the final value of pigeon sale, after removal of the cost of sales, which are, Commission of the sales site, photo and tax (Vat 23%) is 50% for the Organization and 50% for participant.
Let’s start working on the edition 2017, and final race will be in September 30, 2017, and in the fair in Kassel, Germany 22 and 23 October will be distributed first flyers for the edition in 2017.

10/9/2016- INFORMATION ABOUT SILVER RACE 2016, CASTELO BRANCO
Was held today the semi-final, Algarve Golden Race 2016 with release in Castelo Branco, release held with good weather, good visibility and zero wind. The pigeons started arriving at the loft ace 10:53 and until 11:07 registered in Benzing 1167 pigeons. It happened at 11:07 register system stopped for some time, and because that some pigeons do not register when they arrived, later the situation was resolved, but as there were pigeons that arrived and not registered, the Organization decided the following:
– Release tomorrow Sunday the pigeons around the loft and connect the Benzing to register the pigeons when come in, and do after the LOFT LIST with all pigeons that are in loft.
– Approve the classification results to the place 1167.
– Are in the Ace Pigeon in this race all the pigeons that are in the loft, and after 1167 are all with the same average that 1167.

– Is held tomorrow Saturday, September 10th, the semi-final Algarve Golden Race 2016 with basketing today from 6 PM.
– The prize that was provided for the winner was a FORD KA, or 10,000 €, but our FORD-FIAAL sponser, Mr Anibal Guerreiro company, surprised us by informing us that the prize would be the new FORD FIESTA for Silver Race and another for the final winner of the ACE Pigeon. Thank you FIAAL company to increase the quality in dispute.

4/9/2016- INFORMATION ABOUT 3rd RACE
Was planned to take place tomorrow the 3rd race 2016, as previously announced , the basketing would today Sunday 09/04/2016 starting at 7 pm, checking up at 7 pm outside the loft a temperature of 35 degrees, and after confirmation by our meteorologist is expected for tomorrow at 8 am, a 28-degree temperature on the release place and at 1 pm a temperature of 45 degrees. So the race was canceled and will not repeat, because in next Saturday is semi-final Castelo Branco.
The prizes that were planned for the competition tomorrow € 4,500 pass into the semi-final to be held on next Saturday and which is expected large reduction in temperatures.
Thus they will be attributed 45 prizes of € 100 from 31st to 75th place in Castelo Branco race

1/9/2016 – INFORMATION ABOUT 3rd RACE / ACE PIGEON – ÉVORA
After meeting with the loft manager Rogéro , and because of the hard training last Monday, when many pigeons arrived on Tuesday, with the daily flight Wednesday many pigeons had difficulty flying, decided the organization change the third race Évora (150 km) for next Monday 5 September and make release in Beja (100 km) since Saturday 10 September is the semifinal Castelo Branco (300 km)

Because of the many fires in central Portugal, area where is located the release the second race Algarve Golden Race 2016 PORTALEGRE, at the present day there is accumulation of fumes and various particles throughout the area, which makes the air irrespirable, which does not permit the realization of release tomorrow. As provided the extinction of fires, for today and tomorrow, we expect it to be possible to hold the release on Monday 29 August. Later we will give more information about the day of release.

16/8/2016- IN THE WAY TO THE FINAL
Time passed of 5 months from the first entry of pigeons for the 2016 edition of ALGARVE GOLDEN RACE, and received about 5400 coming pigeons from 32 countries, and about 1,200 fanciers, which is the first time in Europe so many pigeons and fanciers participate in OLR. We think that this result comes from the work that all Golde Race team has conducted, serious work, transparent and competent, facing work for pigeons and fanciers, because only a competent job deserves the trust of many fanciers.
The year 2016 is until now with indices above average, because after five months in the loft that went through a quarantine period, for a habituation period the loft and zone, for the first trainings around the loft, and 8 training with distances of 10 to 170 km, 84% of the entered pigeons will compete in the first race counting for the Ace pigeon, that takes place on the next day Friday 19/08/2016 with release in Monforte- 205 km.
Like all Organizations, we like to take many pigeons to the final race , but our main goal is to get the maximum and that the pigeons are well prepared for the final, so the 4 Races before the final, counting for the Ace pigeon, have this year more km, to all the pigeons that arrive to the final, be in condition to win.

Although we have almost half of Portugal with fires in the forests, the area for the release of tomorrow training Friday 12/08/2016, AZARUJA, 170 km, currently maintains good condition for release. Despite being scheduled for tomorrow a maximum temperature of 38º, ace 3:00 PM. the part of the morning until 10:00 AM, 28º has maximum temperatures. So let’s make tonight basketing and hope that tomorrow the weather help us to release.

The organization decided that the pigeons not yet been paid not participate in the final 5 races, which are those that have money in dispute. This decision is due to every year some participants will make excuses and delaying the payment, and then inform us that pay when come to see the final race, and then not appear and how not win any prize never more give news, and organizing has some thousands of euros from previous years to receive.

Information- Having the last training was held in Beja, with the distance of 100 km, and according to the calendar were planned 3 more training, with 120 km, 150 km and 170 km, before the first official race counting for the Ace pigeon , which takes place on 19 August, with the distance of 205 km, and after meeting with the loft manager, was understood that hold 3 training to 120, 150 and 170 km before the first official race and Ace Pigeon , which held August 19 in Monforte, with the distance of 205 km, would give little time to rest for the pigeons between training, as high temperatures are expected for the next 2 weeks.

Team Florea Sorin pigeons were occupied places 23, 49, 123 of 4735 pigeons in general ranking and places 1, 3, 4 ranking countries (Romania).
At the Official Training nr. 4 from Mertola (50km) Team Florea Sorin pigeons were ranked 1st, 3rd, 6th ranking countries (Romania) and places 26th, 120th, 228th of 4780 pigeons in general ranking.
Certainly Romania will fight for the first places!

– The pigeons that came later in the loft from USA , Kuwait and 15 Belgians, who have been flying separated from the group, as did 4 trainings at 5, 10, 20 and 30 km. Saturday make the last training alone with release at 50 km. When they arrive join the rest of the group, and so all the pigeons of the loft fly and train together.

28/7/2016- INFORMATION – 5.TRAINING VALE AÇOR- 75 Km
– After contact with our meteorologist we found that friday day 29/07/2016, there conditions to make the vale Açor training. So the pigeons will be basketed Thursday and will release on Friday.

Because of high temperatures with maximums of 38º, planned for tomorrow and next days, the planned training for tomorrow 26.07.2016 was canceled. The training will be held as soon as the temperatures goes down, which is expected in next weekend.

– Today began the process of acoplate electronic chips BENZING , at participants pigeons in the Algarve Golden Race 2016.
– The organization also reports, that after meeting with loft manager , he reported that the pigeons need a few more days of training around loft, before starting the official training. So we plan to start on 12 July.

– Another edition of the Algarve Golden Race, and another year all expectations were exceeded. We have in 2016 fanciers of 35 countries, which sent 1,809 teams, 5,427 pigeons. THANK YOU to all who participate, and THANK YOU to our Agents, Collaborators and Sponsers, because without them it would not be possible to make the Algarve Golden Race one of the largest and most prestigious One Loft Race in the world.
– The whole team, administrative and sports, is working for the edition 2016 will be another success, the administrative part to introduce the pigeons in Benzing system, updating personal pages with pigeons and payments, and create personal pages of new participants. Due to the high number of participants and pigeons, we think that only at the beginning of July we will have everything completed to send emails to the participants.
– The sports part is also releasing pigeons 2 times a day, in the morning and the afternoon, to the pigeons come well prepared to the first training.
– At the beginning of July the electronic chips will be introduced and will then be published the list of pigeons that are in the loft – LOFT LIST
